Star Wars Battlefront II

This is my latest addition to my game list, a FPS/TPS, Star Wars Battlefornt 2. I don’t have its prequel but from wad I heard its mostly familiar but with some addition and enhancement. it was release in november 2005 so it is kind of an old game. But age is merely a number.

For those of you who are familiar with quake, this is like the star wars version. Basically in this game player becomes a trooper or droid of a faction, 4 in total(republic(clones), empire(evil clones), rebels(human and wookie) and separatist(droids)). then you have the different game types fpr multiplyer or you can go through the campaign as part of the 501st legion.

players are the separated into 6 types of character, a basic trooper(general use), a heavy trooper(anti vehicle), a snipe(anti infantry), an engineer(repairs – sabotage vehicle), a commander(morale boost) and lastly factions special units. not to forget when a player kills a target amonunt of enemy one can also opt to use the hero charater, which include jedis and bounty hunters. there are alos pilots for space battles.
Graphics, hmmmmmmmmm. To be honest, it is kind of like playing Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. most of it looks kind of flat, but all in all its ok especially on certain map like Coruscant in the jedi temple, where u battle within the hallways.

Gameplay is quite easy to master. those of you who are familiar with counter strike will not find this a trouble. piloting, a land or otherwise, vehicle is simple. there are two type of vehicle single pilot or multi one. in single pilot you drive and control weapon at the same time, such vehicle are mostly the smaller ones with the exception of the AT-AT which i think is only available on hoth. in the multi people vehicle player may choose to either be the pilot or a gunner. for the space battle player even get to board the enemies capital ship to destroy it from the inside. you get to pilot fighter craft, bombers, transports(which can carry extra troops, u can choose to pilot it or be a turret) and other ships.

I guess the availability makes the game more interesting along with the ability to control jedis such as kenobi, yoda and even the emperor himself. in summary Star Wars Battlefront II has everything to satisfy a fan. In this game players will get to experience the battlefield and rewrite how the battle goes. full scale battles include the battle of hoth and geonosis. you even get to fight on the death star or on board the Tantive IV.

though there are still much improving needed overall its a good game and a must play for starwars fans. its quite similar to battlefield 2142 as well but not as graphically developed and in battle front you can take part in a full scale battle like you see the movies.
